Dear GMC Community,

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our spring Cheating Trivia event! It was an incredible event and a fun way to bring together so many different parts of our community to “compete.” Stay tuned, we will be announcing a summer date soon.

As we head into the summer months, our Georgetown University student volunteers are off studying for finals, while the number of guests accessing services at our Drop-In Centers continues to rise. Over the past year, GMC has seen a 50% increase in the number of guests relying on GMC for meals, and most depend on us for their primary source of nutrition. This is a critical moment for our work, and we need support across several key areas this summer, including volunteers at our Drop-In Centers, Amazon Wishlist support to help meet growing nutrition needs, and volunteer groups for our new hot lunch program. Read below to learn how you can get involved and make a direct impact.

With gratitude,

Team GMC

Volunteer at the Drop-In Centers!

Join the GMC community by volunteering at one of our Drop-In Centers and supporting our guests in a direct, hands-on way. Volunteers help facilitate our shower, laundry, and meal programs while also spending time with guests, building relationships, and helping create a welcoming, community-centered environment.

Provide & Serve a Hot Meal!

At long last, GMC is offering a group volunteer opportunity. We are piloting a hot meal program at our Pop-Up on Thursdays and are looking for groups to provide a hot lunch for approximately 60 guests, serve the meal, and spend time with our guests. Modeled after our GMC Extends dinners, this is a great fit for corporate teams, community groups, or families on summer break. Sign up below or reach out to Teddy Sullivan at [email protected]. It is a meaningful way to serve together, support local restaurants, and show up for our guests during a critical time.

Support the Amazon Wishlist!

Help GMC keep a fully stocked food reserve at our Drop-In Centers and for our Outreach team to use. This shelf-stable supply is a critical, everyday resource for our program staff, allowing us to respond in real time to guests who are hungry. Items from
