On October 8 2024, The Spirit of Georgetown is back in the Georgetown neighborhood & will be hosted by Ezra and Jessica Glass to increase awareness about homelessness in Washington, DC and to build support for Georgetown Ministry Center's Drop-In Center serving chronically homeless individuals. Amanda Klingler, Ann Malekzadeh, Alicia O'Brien, & Claire Wilder are co-chairing this year’s event. This event will be the perfect kick off to the fall social season.
The Spirit of Georgetown 2024 will be honoring longtime GMC volunteer & Board Member, Abbe Lowell, for his direct service to our community's unhoused population. A regular volunteer on Wednesday mornings, Abbe is a friendly face our guests can count on seeing. Our volunteers are the backbone of GMC, and Abbe represents the profound impact all volunteers have on our guests' lives.
The Spirit of Georgetown will be held in the Georgetown neighborhood. Event address will be distributed to attendees upon RSVP.
Georgetown Ministry Center guides service-resistant, chronically homeless individuals towards stability through a safe and welcoming environment where everyone is treated with respect.
We seek lasting solutions to homelessness one person at a time.
